It SNOWED in San Angelo!!!

We have pine trees around our whole property and I've never really cared about them either way. This morning I fell in love with them because they were covered in snow. They just looked perfect and natural. I love my home!!!

When we bought our house almost two years ago I fell in love with the green yard and red brick. I just can't get over how pretty snow makes everything. Usually when I take pictures of my house the dogs are standing at the fence making a scene---today they were in the garage and refused to budge for any reason. We could NOT get them up even to go potty!

It's not a very good picture but it has snow in it so I love it!!!!

My driveway...I couldn't exactly find it---I hope I didn't drive over any sprinklers or lights!!!!

Finally Things to Post about

Okay on November 12th Lacey had her little girl Makyleigh Marie...she is so freaking little!!! I couldn't believe she was overdue---she only weighed right at 7 pounds and was so long and skinny.

Thanksgiving was long and chaotic. We spent Thursday with my family--ate a LOT and had tons of fun. Friday we drove to Llano to see Shaun's dad and family. Saturday we drove back and had dinner with her grandmother, aunt, and uncle. It was fun but I'm glad its over---I need a break. Unfortunately its right back to work. Here is a picture of me and Kyzrie--its the only pic I have from all of Thanksgiving!!!

Today Trisha had her wonderful little boy Carson James Hunter!! He weighs 7lbs 2.3 ounces and is 21 inches long. He is such a blessing to their family and I can't wait to watch him grow up!!! Caroline did a wonderful job keeping me updated while I was working oh so hard :-)

Tonight we have a chance of sleet and snow---so freaking exciting in Texas :-) It will be super cold and I love cold weather so bring it on!!!! Hip Hip Hooray :-) Maybe I will have pics? Not real sure...

Oh yeah and just for those of you who didnt know we were gifted with a new kitty. we named him Copper because he is the color of pennies. We have recentely discovered that he is deaf---not sure it really bothers him but he is a SWEET kitty. He just loves people and purrs non-stop. Heres a picture of him doing what he does best---absolutely nothing.

Being Thankful

I have noticed on everyone's blogs and facebook pages that each person is stating everyday what they are thankful for. I love this idea but I don't ever remember to get on here (not near as often as i get on facebook). So I thought I'd highlight some of things in life I'm thankful to God for every morning.

* My amazing family (Mom, Dad, Travis, Granny and Papa)-life would be so empty without you
* My husband--I can't express how you have fulfilled my life
* My home and pets--I love the home Shaun and I have built together and our wonderful
animals that live here with us. They make life worth living :-)
* My job--while some may not think it's as wonderful as I do I am thankful that I have a job and
that I can benefit students lives.
* My friends-Trisha, Caroline, Tanya, Kadryn, and Shakeah---you are all amazing women in
your own unique ways---I love you all tremendously and can't imagine life without yall--luv ya
tons

These are just a few of the things in my life I am thankful for---just the little things that remind you how wonderful life is :-)

Not a lot going on

I haven't posted in awhile but I really don't have anything to write about. Work has been really crazy so I've been working later than usual. Shaun is also working later so we are both tired. I'm really enjoying the cooler weather---in fact I made a fire tonight just because it is the slightest bit cool in the house. I hate using the heater---its so not fun. I remember dad making fires all the time at home and I remember how wonderful that made the house feel. Saturday is Trisha's baby shower---I'm excited for her---she needs lots of things for her first baby. Caroline let me come over and see her nursery---so freaking cute. Kadryn will be in town this weekend so I get to see Kyzrie and Kaibree!!! That will fill my weekend up :-) But other than that I haven't had much going on lately so hopefully with the wonderful holidays coming up there will be more fabulous things to post about!!!

Please forgive me---this is very mean

I want all my wonderful friends to please forgive me for the things I am about to say---I truly deeply love each of you I just need to vent.

***I am soooo sick of hearing about babies! All of my friends have children or are expecting children at he moment so all I hear about are babies, daycare, breastfeeding, maternity clothes, doctor appointments, and weight gain. Can we please just talk about work or trash our husbands---anything just a day without non stop baby talk. mainly I have nothing to talk about--I dont have children--not expecting a baby---nor do I particulary want one at this point. I just need to get this off my chest because its very frustrating to talk to people when you have absolutely nothing to add to the conversation. ---Thank you!!!

***Other things going on---Shaun got in trouble this weekend because I am overly hormonal and thats just how things worked for him. So he has been working very hard to kiss my ass...he's so wonderful. Travis came home this weekend--I got to see him for a whole hour!!! I dont understand how he's always sooooo busy. Work is hectic and I am on a roll of royal screw ups! Its just been a week and it needs to stop but if today was any indicator I will continue on the same track this week. Whatever---being employed is way overrated :-0 Just kidding I love my job and I am very thankful for the opportunities I have had through my job.

***Ok so that was enough venting---sorry so very sorry to all my mommy and expectant mommy friends---please find it in your hearts to still love me. I really like kids I just dont want to work with them and hear about them non-stop.

Nothing much to say

I really don't have anything to blog about but I'd like to keep some symblance of a blog maintained. Work has been busy---kids still are not adjusting to school well which means lots of work on my end. Shaun has been working a lot more which is a blessing---he is the type of person who needs to be busy and the money is nice too :-) Dad had surgery on his hand Friday and is not enjoying the recovery process---he's funny on pain meds. Caroline had a bunch of people over for Corey's police graduation and it was wonderful to see everyone and eat some delishious food!!! I'm excited that Trisha is getting close to having baby Carson---even though she may not be! Other than that life has been wonderfully uneventful and care free.....love always

Oops

I can already tell I'm going to be a bad blogger...I got sick and down and completely forgot to blog! I checked other peoples before bed but just didn't update my own little site. So yeah I had mono and strep...it sucked and made me down which led to lots of tears and anxiety. I'm not proud to admit that but now that I feel better I don't really care that I'm a terrible patient or that my husband probably wanted to run away. Work has really picked up...it picked up while I was sick but I didn't care then :-) It took my energy to go from my truck to the campus--let alone check on the actual students. Now that I feel better I'm playing major catch up...but at least I have plenty to do. Nothing much is going on outside of work...we've hung out at the house, played out at the lake, spent time with family---you know the norms. I have to throw Lacey's baby shower this week and then Trisha's at the end of October...I'm excited about the babies and happy for my friends....they will all make terrific mommies!!!! Okay well thats all I have so until next time.

Uphill Climb

So I went Friday and sat at the MediCenter FOREVER to get my five minutes in the nurse practioners chair where she told me ever so matter of factly---its either mono or strep---maybe both but the treatments the same so heres your antibiotic and get some rest and drink cold water. I went to WalMart to fill my prescription and the line was down past the toy aisles---I had to tell myself not to cry I had other options. So I walked and decided to try WalGreens...got down there dropped off the prescription and realized I couldnt find my insurance card---called the medicenter---yep they had it. So I did the back and forth drive to get the card and back for the prescription. I came home ate two bite of a sandwich--took my meds and watched a movie.. Saturday Shaun had continued ed so I slept in till 10---which I never do. Arond 12:30 I went to WalMart because there is NO food in our house and I think Shaun has put up with enough this week. I was competely exhausted after grocery shopping--it took a lot out of me. By the time Shaun got home at 5 I was going stir crazy---between being home and exhausted all week and the 3 days of rain (not complaining God we love rain) I couldnt stand my couch anymore. I went to town by myself because Shaun wouldnt go and tried finding my mom a birthday present---she'll be 50 on Tuesday (I didnt say that). So I got that done got some Francos and came home and watched a movie called the Women...its okay I guess. Hopefully today we can go to Lacey and Blair's for a football get together---not a Cowboy fan just want out of my house and then of course its Sunday night dinner---thrilled about it because I look forward to it all week. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Still no bueno

So I still feel sick. I have a sore throat and fever but I still went to work today hoping I could go to the Dr. later. Well every Dr I called doesn't work on Fridays---hmmmm guess people don't get sick those days. So I called the MediCenters and they all have about a 5 hours wait---yea so I can go sit with more sick people! So I'm going to hope and pray that at 3:45 when I leave work it's not so bad---please send good thoughts---I know I'm not that sick I just want some antibiotics to get me over this faster...I'm not a good sick person. Shaun has been so patient but I know he will only tolerate this for so long before he tells me to suck it up! Okay well I'll let you know how it goes :-)

Well Crapola

I feel like crap. I'm overly emotional, my stomach is bothering me, and I just have no energy. Don't ever type those symptoms into google because you are either pregnant or dying---I don't want to be either. I just want to feel better...I want to stop feeling like I want to cry. I just needed to vent for a minute---thanks!

Lazy Day

I am already slacking on posts and its only my second one!!! I had a really crummy day at work on Friday so I'm going to use that as my excuse. Sometimes I find my job really difficult to handle mentally. I love the kids and I love the reward of working with a student who has always struggled...but sometimes there are aspects that make my jaw drop and my heart stop. I had one of those days Friday. Which makes me ever so thankful for this long weekend :-0 Shaun is on call this weekend and has been working non-stop since 8am. Since its now 9:30pm I sure he is in a wonderfully chipper mood and will come home just skipping. We did get to meet and have dinner but he got called right in the middle and I just saw the life drain out of his face! I did however get to spend time with Kadryn and her fabulous little girls today! She is in town so of course I had to go get some baby time in and see how wild Kyz has gotten. Kaibree is 7 months now and has gotten so big...she sits up, crawls, and pulls her self up with a little help. She laughs and the sound is amazing and heart warming. Kyz has become fascinated with makeup and dress up! She is so funny. I'm sure tomorrow will be the same for poor Shaun but I will be doing laundry and cleaning house. If I get all that done tomorrow I can enjoy my hair appointment Monday and relax before having to go back to work!

Because everyone has a first time

I have read several of my friends posts each day but have never had the time to start my own. So I decided that while watching Greys rereuns tonight that I would learn how to do this. I have enjoyed reading about my friends families and just the short updates people do every day. I dont know that I can do this everyday but hey I can always try. If you have found this its probably because you know me but if not my name is Kayla and I am married to my high school sweetheart Shaun. We met at a church camp floating the Frio river and have been friends-boy/girlfriend-and husband wife since. That was 11 years ago...seems crazy since I'm only 25 but I wouldnt trade my life with Shaun for anything. Heres the low down on our life:

* We bought a house a year and half ago in Grape Creek because thats where our parent live...we love having a huge yard and no close neighbors.

* We have three dogs-Harm, Hoss, and Tatum. We have a cat named Weasel who rules the roost. They are better than children to us because we spoil them rotten.

*I am extremely close to my family

*I am a Behavior Intervention Specialist. This is my fourth year working with emotionally disturbed students and I truly love my job and I feel called to work with difficult students. I just finished my first masters degree and am currently working on my second. Shaun is a plumber and has been for forever.

*I have an AMAZING group of friends who make me realize everyday how lucky I am and I thank God everyday for them. Trisha and Caroline are both expecting babies soon so I am slowly becoming that only lady without kids :-) I already have two neices--Kyzrie and Kaibree who are fabulous and wonderful.

*I do NOT like drama and it makes me sick to my stomach when people drag me into their issues. I dislike ignorant people who refuse to educate themselves and act stupid. I do not believe people should marry because they are having a baby, nor do I feel that people should stay together because of children. Kids are more messed up from hearing their parents argue everyday than having divorced parents. I think people should try to achieve all that they can and quit depending on others to do everything for them. Our society has become more about getting than earning---that needs to change.

This has been more than enough!!! Sorry for the long overwhelming overview!!!
